On May 4th, we hosted a Klient Trivia with Salesforce Montreal. 20 AE from 2 team, SMB and GRB attended.

To follow our commitment to the 1% Salesforce pledge – 1% of our time, revenue and product should be given back to the community, we did a 10-1000-10k pledge and gave 4 prizes. Klient is proud to announce that we are donating 2000$ to the Montreal Children’s Hospital Foundation and 2000$ to the Mira Foundation, two foundations that are close to our hearts!!!!!

Allow me to introduce myself, my name is KORG!

We have rebranded our Klient Internal Salesforce Org to KORG.  Naming and providing code names to systems and processes does help with change management, adoption and unity. Klient can now count on KORG to rally its workforce!

This is an internal communication in our Slack channel but we thought it could be interesting for others to read.

Allow me to introduce myself: My name is KORG!

KORG is now part of the Klient family! We’ve rebranded our internal Salesforce org, our Klient Org, to KORG!

I’ve learned about code naming systems or processes from one of our clients, Mathieu at Munvo, where they named their Salesforce implementation of Klient “NSync” and they even had a special name for their accounting team,“GTD,” Getting Things Done. One of the first things @Martin Cloutier from Drakya asked for when he joined was to name the Salesforce Org. Drakya chose “DFS,” Drakya’s Fantastic System!

Labeling systems and processes helps with change management, adoption and it simplifies the discussion.
Put it on KORG, have you looked on KORG, I’ve built-it on KORG, start a project on KORG and do your timesheet on KORG! 😛

Our chosen name is the combination of “Klient” and “Org,” KORG (for the newbie, an “Org”, Organisation, refers to a Salesforce environment where a business operates).

After a few google searches and asking around, KORG doesn’t seem to be offensive in any language. Beyond a piano company, the most interesting thing named KORG is this beautiful Marvel Universe character that I came to appreciate! This confirmed the name KORG for me. This character is solid, bold, funny, loyal, awkward, deep, sweet – I love the guy, I want to be KORG, we are KORG! 🙂

The first order of business for KORG is to get back in shape!

As part of our 2022 plan we are becoming more secure than ever. We will soon be Salesforce Security reviewed(again), and Klient will be SOC2 and ISO27001 certified. To get there, we have to implement, execute and monitor several internal controls. So, in the upcoming weeks and months we will be providing KORG some nice upgrades! You will definitely hear the name KORG a few times!

I strongly recommend you watch this 4 min video of Korg, the Marvel character. He makes me laugh every time I think of him!

And now, let’s welcome KORG to the Klient family!

I’m taking this end-of-year opportunity to recap 2021 and give you a glimpse of our primary areas of focus for 2022:

The TEAM grew with key roles in product development and with Peter Barbatsuly, our new VP Operations and Customer Advocate, aka “your new best friend!”2021 was all about consolidation and solidification. It slowed the innovation pace, but we came out strong with a solid foundation to grow, both with our team and our product. We’ve been heavily investing in SECURITY & PRIVACY and we are proud to announce that in the upcoming months, Klient’s Salesforce Security Review will be reconfirmed and we are on-track to become SOC2 & ISO 27001 certified!And, watch out 2022!

Klient as a FAST EVOLVING PRODUCT is back. We are implementing a streamlined, unified and efficient way of using Klient throughout the product, which we codenamed “the Performance Path.” This provides focus for development, support, documentation and training, while increasing the quality of the experience and efficiency for your team. With that, we will be introducing new features like the Project Workspace and long-deserved Resource Planner improvements.You can make us go faster.

As a Salesforce partner, we have access to Salesforce technical resources to improve our product. The level of support we get is greatly influenced by your reviews! WRITING A REVIEW of Klient on the Salesforce AppExchange will go a long way. 

In January, we will be launching our KLIENT UNIVERSITY. The first classes will be for new customers, but we plan on expanding the offering to existing customers soon after. The Klient learning Trails will also be enhanced to provide faster on-boarding of your resources.Plus, we will soon be launching the KLIENT CUSTOMER RECOGNITION PROGRAM; so, be on the lookout, and be ready to shine!

For those who have followed Salesforce through the years, they know the #1 CRM in the world always set ambitious goals in terms of growth.

Here’s some highlights:

  • Produce $1.6 trillion in new revenues for customers by 2026.
  • They Expect to grow partner revenues to 3.5 times what they were in 2020
  • IDC predicted the Salesforce Economy will generate 9.3 million new jobs by 2026

Salesforce realease their new research from IDC detailing how they will drive nearly 9.6 million new jobs (yes, you read that right) and more than $1.6 trillion in new revenues for customers by 2026. Following the pandemic, their focus is not only about the jobs and revenue growth, but also to provide support their partners.

The ecosystem of companies supporting Salesforce customersʼ implementations is five times as big as Salesforce itself today and will be more than six times as big
in 2026. With 2026 ecosystem revenue forecast to be 3.5 times that in 2020, the challenge will be finding talent.

The growth of cloud software2 suffered little from the pandemic, growing 22% worldwide
in 2020, while on-premises software growth fell to zero. This year, cloud-delivered
software will be 43% of the software market, and by 2026, it will be 61%.

Billable hours are the lifeblood of any professional services organization.

The more billable hours your consultants log, the more successful you’ll be!

But It’s easier said than done… For a variety of reasons, consulting and professional services firms often don’t record as many billable hours every week as they should.

If your consultants aren’t billing 30-35 hours every week, here are some things you can do to improve the numbers:

1. Clearly Communicate What’s Billable and What’s Not Billable

What’s billable and what’s not? Getting this right is one of the fastest ways to increase the number of billable hours your consultants deliver every week. Do you bill for communication time? Emails? Phone calls ahead of a consulting gig? What about the time spent preparing materials for an on-site visit? Often these activities are not billed to a client. Some of them could be billed. But only if you clearly set expectations with your clients during the sales process.

2. Use Communication Checklists

It’s easy to tell your sales staff to “clearly communicate” with prospects. It’s not easy to get them to actually follow through. The easiest way to ensure communication happens is to give your sales team a checklist of items to cover with new clients. Require that they use the checklist with every new customer, check off the boxes, and turn it in with all purchase orders. That way clients aren’t surprised (or upset) when they see the items their invoice later.

3. Take Administrative Duties Away from Consultants

Consultants are often burdened by countless administrative duties. Emails, phone calls, planning sessions, internal conference calls, quarterly check-in calls, appointment confirmation calls, and on and on.Some of these things are necessary. But some could be delegated to administrative staff. The more “non-billable” activities you can take away from your consultants, the more money they can make for you.

4. Assign Team Members Based on Skills and Availability (Not Just Assigned Accounts or Territories)

Out of convenience, leadership in many service delivery firms assign work based on territories, size-of-company, or pre-existing relationships. While common, these approaches can easily lead to major workload imbalances a your consulting or professional services team. One team members might be booked for months. Another might be sitting around watching training videos. There’s nothing wrong with training of course. But with a bit of planning, most consulting teams could do much better at allocating their resources. This is one way using a professional services automation (PSA) tool can lead to major improvements in revenue.  In Klient Software’s PSA solution, resource planners can see everything they need to know to assign resources—all at a glance. 5. Enforce the Use of CRM and PSA Tools

The easiest way to enforce the use of the tools you provide your team is to say: “If it’s not logged in the system, it didn’t happen. “That’s usually motivation enough to get your team to use their CRM or PSA tool—especially if they’re paid on commission or eligible for bonus pay for performance.

So… What can you Do ?

  1. Take some time today to evaluate the number of hours each of your consultants are billing.
  2. Even better, set up a regular report that tells you the average hours your consultants bill every week.
  3. If the average isn’t 30-35 hours per consultant, it’s likely you’re leaving money on the table. Use the tips in this article as a starting place to improve your numbers—and your revenue.

We are excited to share recent product updates from the Spring 2020 Release.

Klient continues to push forward on innovation, user experience, and mobility with these releases,  including the addition of many new Lightning Components, and a brand new mobile experience.

Modern Project Management

Klient Project Management is designed to be both simple and powerful, so anyone can get started quickly and take control of any project right away.

The New Project Task Management Lightning Component offers the ability for users to easily create and manage tasks including rapid inline editing support,  task resource assignment and drag-drop task management.

Teams can quickly add new members and set up tasks, and then easily switch between grid, board, or timeline (Gantt) charts to track progress

The new Project Board Lightning Component offers a modern Kanban board representing project phases,  sprints, or milestones, easily recognizable with drag-drop ease.    The Project Board offers project managers and customers an easy and at-a-glance view of the project structure and progress towards completion.

Modern Task Management

The new Task Lightning Components include the ability to add and update task resource scheduling,  update and completed task checklists,  setup repeating tasks, and enter time against tasks directly from the task record.

Project Timeline Lightning Component

The new Project Timeline Lightning Component provides real-time insight into critical project activities including when project and task hours exceed scheduled,  when project budgets exceed actuals,  when new resources are assigned to projects,  when task statuses are changed, new project notes, issues, and risk are added and more.

Resources can subscribe to these notifications as well (individual notifications or all) and receive an email notification when the event occurs.

Project Activity Lightning Component

The new Project Activity Lightning Component provides the ability to quickly review and create project activity including events, calls, notes, and emails – including the ability to send and tack email replies – directly within the project.

Time Entry Lightning Component 

The update Time Entry Component can be plugged into any record and now with the latest updated,  record details will default into the component – such as the account, project, and task if the time entry lightning component is added to the task record.

You can even add the time entry lightning component to the Salesforce Case record,  where the Case ID will be automatically be associated and tracked against the time entry.

Expense Entry Lightning Component

The new Expense Entry Lightning Component allows rapid expense line creation including the attachement of expense receipts directly from the expense record.

The New Customer External Site

The new Customer External site, available from a link on the project page, enables customers project access without the a user or login required.   Customers can simply access the link and start collaborating on projects including viewing and update tasks in the kanban board, accessing the Gantt chart,  adding files, and adding project notes.

The new “Task Visibility” setting determines if customers can see all project tasks or only tasks you designate to be customer facing.

You can also determine this site should be read-only for customers, only allowing the addition of notes and attachments.

Modern Work Management  – Lightning Design

 
With the Spring released we are further modernized the user experience of the My Work page – the central area to manage all project tasks from once central location.   The updated My Work page is now built on the Lightning Design System.

Template Project Insight

We are now storing the template project and id on created projects so now service leaders can compare template project estimates  vs actual project performance.

Xero OAuth 2.0 support

We have now moved the Xero integration to support OAuth 2.0 as required by Xero. All customers including existing Xero integration customers must re-authenticate the Xero integration upon installation.
