Time-Based Scheduling for Smarter Resource Planning

A brand-new Time-Based Scheduling method in the Resource Planner lets you easily distribute project hours across days, weeks, months, or quarters. Automatically exclude holidays and time off to match real-world delivery constraints.

See a detailed walkthrough of this new flexible scheduling method in our Feature Spotlight.

Enhanced Project Import Wizard

Now you can insert templates into any project at any time, not just when creating new projects. The improved Project Import Wizard makes it simple to add predefined structures, tasks, and resources to live projects.

Workspace Improvements

  • Auto-Save for Rich Text Fields: Notes and updates auto-save every few seconds in the Workspace to prevent data loss.
  • Better Visual Alignment: Text fields now default to left alignment, making content easier to read.
  • Clearer Assignment Views: Visual separators help distinguish between project assignments.
  • Granular Preset Sharing: Share Workspace and Resource Planner presets with internal or external users.

Persistent Timesheet Preferences

Your My Timesheet page now remembers toggle settings between sessions—saving time and ensuring consistency for frequent users.

Resource Planner Display Enhancements

Release 50.3.2 FAQ

The new “Time-Based Scheduling” method is an enhancement to Klient PSA scheduling platform. It allows users to input total hours for a task assignment and distribute those hours over different timeframes, such as per day, week, month, or quarter. Users can also set editable start and end dates, which dynamically update the scheduling calculations.
The system automatically detects and excludes holidays and non-working days when allocating hours in Time-Based Scheduling. This feature can be controlled with a “Consider Time Off/Holidays” checkbox, which is enabled by default.
The Project Import Wizard, which replaced the “Insert Task Template” button, allows users to add templates to existing projects. This provides an improved, guided experience for incorporating predefined task structures into ongoing projects.
The system now automatically attempts to link Timesheet Splits to a matching Task Assignment Schedule (TAS) record based on the timesheet date, task, resource, and role. If a single match is found, the Timesheet Split is updated with the corresponding TAS and Task Assignment (TA). If no TAS is found, it then looks for a matching TA record. If neither is found, the Timesheet Split is saved as usual.
Users can now save, rename, and delete their personal presets on the My Schedule page. This provides greater control over custom scheduling views. These personal presets are independent of Global or Project Planner presets and cannot be shared.
New “Internal” and “External” sharing options have been added for presets in the Workspace and Resource Planner. The “Internal” option allows only internal project resources to view the preset, while the “External” option allows only external project resources with a Community Plus license to view it.
When the “Display Actual Hours” toggle is turned ON, the Resource Planner now shows the logged hours of a resource directly in the summary row. The display format includes the clock icon, logged hours, regular scheduled/planned hours, and percentage, making it easier to compare actual time against planned time.
In the Workspace, when the start or due date of a task with predecessor links is updated, dependent tasks will now automatically reschedule. This ensures consistent behavior across the Workspace and aligns with the auto-scheduling functionality in the Timeline View.
